This Privacy Policy describes how Random Reminders ("the App") handles your data. The App is developed and operated by Vladyslav Kozlov, an individual developer based in Ukraine ("we", "us"). Contact: support@randomreminders.app.
Random Reminders is built to collect as little as possible. The reminders you create — their titles, times, and content — never leave your device or your personal iCloud account. We have no servers that store your reminders. The data we do collect is limited to anonymous usage analytics, crash reports, and subscription status, all processed by the third-party services described below.
What we collect
Anonymous usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics (Google) and Mixpanel to understand how people use the App — which features are used, where users drop off, what triggers conversions. Events include things like reminder_created, paywall_shown, and app_opened. We do not send the contents of your reminders, the specific times your reminders fire, or any personally identifying information. Both services collect device-level metadata such as device model, iOS version, language, country, and an anonymous identifier generated by the SDK.
Crash reports. Firebase Crashlytics (Google) collects crash data when the App unexpectedly closes — stack traces, device state at the time of the crash, OS version. This helps us fix bugs. Crash data includes anonymous identifiers but no reminder content or personal identifiers.
Purchase data. If you subscribe to Pro or purchase the lifetime option, the transaction is processed by Apple's App Store, and we use RevenueCat to manage entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier from the App and the purchase metadata it needs to verify your subscription status. We never receive your payment details, name, email, or address — Apple handles all payment information directly under its own policy.
iCloud sync (CloudKit). If you are signed into iCloud, your reminders sync across your devices through Apple's CloudKit service. This data is stored in your iCloud account, not ours — we cannot read it. Apple's iCloud privacy policy applies.
What we do not collect
We have made specific choices not to collect:
- The titles or contents of your reminders
- The exact times reminders fire on your device
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any persistent device identifier
- Your contact list, calendar, photos, or location
- Any information that could be combined to re-identify you
Why we collect what we do
Anonymous analytics and crash reports help us improve the App, fix bugs, and decide what to build next. Purchase data is necessary to deliver the Pro features you have paid for. Under GDPR, our legal basis is "legitimate interest" for analytics and crash reporting, and "performance of a contract" for purchase processing. You can object to analytics processing at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Third parties and where data goes
Our service providers ("sub-processors"):
- Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) — United States. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Mixpanel — United States. Policy: mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy
- RevenueCat — United States. Policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple (App Store, CloudKit) — global. Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
International transfers of personal data from the EU, UK, or Ukraine to the United States are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share data with advertisers.
Retention
Analytics events are retained by Firebase and Mixpanel under their default retention windows (typically up to 14 months); we review and reduce this periodically. Crash logs are retained for up to 90 days. RevenueCat retains purchase records for the duration of your subscription and as required by Apple and applicable tax law (typically up to 7 years). If you delete the App, previously collected anonymous analytics remain in aggregated form but cannot be linked back to you.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the right to: access the data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, and request data portability. To exercise these rights, email support@randomreminders.app.
Because we collect minimal data and do not link it to identifiable individuals, in most cases the most effective way to remove your data is to uninstall the App and disable iCloud sync for Random Reminders in iOS Settings.
If you are in California, you have the rights granted under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Ukraine, this is the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman). In the EU, your national supervisory authority. In the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
Random Reminders is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the App, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove any associated data.
iOS permissions
The App requests permission to send notifications and, on iOS 26 and later, to schedule AlarmKit alarms. These permissions are managed by iOS and can be revoked at any time in Settings → Random Reminders.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and surface a notice in the App. Continued use after the effective date of the update constitutes acceptance.
